Skinny Dip Record to Be Challenged - July 10, 2010

(PRWEB) -- The editorial staff at beachesbeaches.com asked Patricia Beach what she thought the chances are that the old record will be broken this year. Patricia has a Facebook page that promotes more legalization of clothing optional beaches. This is what she told us.

"Years ago many people thought that only old fat people went to nude beaches and nudist resorts. But the fact is that you find people of all ages and body types at these beaches and resorts. The growth of social media allows people to connect with like minded people. A person no longer has to hide the fact that she loves a clothes free recreational experience. Via social media, she can now find lots of friends who enjoy the same experience. So, yes. I think the record will be broken again this year."

Staff asked Patricia where she thought a person should go for their first nude recreational experience.

"Nudist resorts," she says, "are safe, clean, managed places." Patricia, who is MissNude on Twitter, goes on. "The guests are on their best behavior. You'll also find them to be friendly and not putting on airs. No one is going to pester you. There will be planned activities for those who want to socialize, but don't feel compelled to participate. Many nudist resorts compare with any 4 star resort. Then, there are the resorts, like Sea Mountain and Hedonism that are adults only, and promote an adult party atmosphere. Some of the best nude beach resorts are in the Caribbean. At any of these places you'll find a wide range of ages and body types.Trust me,you'll find plenty of young beautiful people."

Patricia notes that there are three kinds on clothing optional beaches. First of all there are only a few that are truly legal in the United States. Legal means the beach is designated as a clothing optional beach. That means no threat of arrest or harassment by the authorities. Lifeguards may be on duty during the busy season and there may be enforcement patrols to insure that there is no unruly or offensive behavior.

Another group of beaches are the ones where nude use is accepted but not protected by the law. Then there is the last group of beaches where people will sometimes go take off their clothing but always run the risk of the authorities deciding to sweep the area and arrest or cite any people who are naked. San Onofre State Beach in California is an example of the latter. It was never really legal to be without clothes at the south end of the beach. But, park officials never hassled people who were nude at this area of the beach. Then, in late 2009, the director of the California Depart of Parks and Recreation decided that "no nudity" laws should be enforced. Now, any one who is found naked on the beach may be cited or arrested.
